Oh wow, I love this. It drove me batty, it did, wondering what story of mine that was going to be remixed, so seeing this one was, well, a def. surprise, but a very good one. The glimpse of his childhood! And the beauty in your writing! Oh, this is a wonderful story, it is, and I very happy that you picked this one to remix. Again, because it was unexpected, but a very nice surprise.
I adore fic that gets me thinking about a character the way that this one has! (More hugs and less hitting, and I suppose he would have been a very different hobbits.)
